75g build.

The highest FAOIS charges for a hole to be drilled is $30. And that is for a 2" bulkhead through 1/2'' glass. Prices vary per bulkhead size and glass thickness.

I know, I called today, I could have sworn John told me $40 per hole if the tank wasn't purchased there. That's my bad.

I like it.

By the way I have the bits but I don't know when I would have time to get down there and drill it for u.

I bought some regular hole saws tonight, and am going to make a big wood template that I am going to clamp to the back of the tank so it should make drilling easier.

If ur looking for cheap but good diamond drill bits this is where I get mine thier like 10 mins from my house

Thanks, I was able to borrow some from a friend of mine. Also, scape is done and now just curing in SW. Here is what the final product looks like, the two main structures then the smaller piece of LR for zoas or rics.

Even with the bulkhead and pvc elbow I will have between 1/4"-1/2" between the elbow and front of the overflow box.

Sorry - Can't stop thinking about this one:

Was this a loose fit or an assembled fit?

If it wasn't assembled (the elbow to the bulkhead with a PVC Nipple) - be sure to put the elbows on the bulkhead before you put the overflow in.

you're PVC nipple out of the bulk head ready to receive the elbow will be ~ 3/4" long and you might not be able to get the elbow on there if the overflow is on too.

I see you said that was supposed to be 4x4x36 - but it doesn't look like it's a 4x4 box. looks closer to 5x4.

I hadn't realized you were mounting it this way - I thought you'd use the "thinner but deeper" box rather than the "wider but shallow" configuration.

Looks like you are all set.

Around 3/8" from the bottom of the elbow to the intlet of the elbow. I think it'll be enough room. Does anyone local have a cordless adjustable drill I can borrow? I only have a one speed power drill, I really want to use an adjustable drill just incase the bit catches while drilling. Got the two other holes drilled.

Not a huge update, picked up a new sump. It is quite smaller but it looks really good and it's still big enough for equipment. Should put the total system volume around 70-75g. I am also going to go with a sca302 skimmer (bubble magus nac7 clone). Ordering a dc6000 pump today or Monday so that should be here mid next week. Also hoping the tank gets drilled either tomorrow or next weekend. So after the return gets here and the tank is drilled I just have to work on the plumbing and touch up the paint on the stand and we should be off to the races.

Hey Mike after looking at this and what we talked about today you should buy a 5 or 10g and slide it in sideways next to the sump. You could drill the sump and 5g/10g and plumb them together then use the return pump area in the sump as a fuge and put your return pump in the 5g/10g. For that matter you could even put a baffle in the 5g/10g and put a ceramic block or more live rock (since your using minimal in your display) in the last chamber of the sump and use half the 5g/10g as a fuge and the other side for your return pump. Just a thought.
