75g build.

No, this was the first thing he built for me. A buddy of mine had him build him a sump and was quite happy. Mind if I ask was sort of less desirable things you might have heard? Was it in quality or maybe customer support? Feel free to PM if you don't want to put them on blast.

So today I pulled the old sump out, I then went and unwrapped the new sump to findout the entire thing is crazed along the edges, not a big deal as they agreed to replace it for free. Only thing that is a bummer is, the tank will be without a sump for about 2 weeks. Which shouldn't be an issue as I have put the heaters inside the tank along with the ceramic block. I might try to find a cheap HOB will just for mechanical filtration but we'll see. I however wanted to get an idea on how the new sump was going to fit inside the stand with the other sump. Everything fits perfect. Only thing I might have to move is my gfo/carbon reactor. But aside from that the skimmer fits nicely and the return pump fits nice also.

how r u planning on connecting the 2. I would think if you could drill the whole properly. You could use a bulkhead connecting the 2 sumps. I would think that one side of the bulk head in each sump and as you tighten it the sumps would get pulled together.

that's what I would do anyways. I don't see any problems with it and it won't take up much room at all. no pipes connecting to either sump that way.

glad they r replacing the sump. looks like they proved exactly what people warned me about. :( glad they took care of it. hope it comes back correct next time

Well in their defense, I did leave it in the hot car during the show on Saturday which might be what caused the crazing but, they did fail to mention that doing so might end up with that result, which is why they're replacing it. They sent me pics right after they finished it and there was no crazing. Overall though I'm pretty happy with them. And yeah thats exactly how I will be connecting the two.

You may want to tweak the positioning of the LEDS a little bit, so that the middle of the LED isn't sitting on the slot of the heatsink, but rather on the flat part.

Wasn't sure. Saw the one had a screw in it. Did you only end up getting the 430nm for the violet or is there some 405nm in there?

Yeah I got them, and thank god you mentioned them, if I had to solder these Veros I'd probably have to be put into an insane asylum. Getting everything secured down, going to start soldering tomorrow. Final led count is

Channel 1 - x4 Bridgelux Vero 10 90CRI 5k whites
Channel 2 - x8 Luxeon K 8up royal blues
Channel 3 - x28 Exotic 430nm hyper violets
Channel 4 - x8 Luxeon Rebel ES limes

Very nice setup so far. I can see the cat is already scoping out the tank for ways to catch some fishes when is up and running. Good luck!
