75g Keys Build

Hey everyone, just picked up a 75gal (48x18x21) for an unbelievable price! has a stand, wet/dry sump, nice return pump, built in corner overflow, canopy, dual MH with 4 T5's combo with moonlights and a protein skimmer. Just needs a nice cleaning and a few touch ups here and there. The stand is nice and high, so I don't have to bend over to look at it.
My potential stocking list is collected creatures from down here in the FL Keys such as, ricordea, zoas, some lps, Caribbean tang maybe and other small fish that are reef safe and CUC. With these lights I could pretty much grow anything, so I wont waste the opportunity and of course I'll be buying some SPS, since it's illegal to collect down here. Most likely purchase them from other local members in the Miami area.
If anyone has questions or advice, feel free to comment. Will be posting pics soon and try to keep this thread updated on even the smallest things I do. Sorry If the build is slow, I won't be able to get this tank wet until October or November, where i'm putting the tank is at my future apartment, that is being constructed at the moment. I will take my time in cleaning it and making the cabinets look nice.

Thanks, just have to start working on my collecting skills lol

I've caught gobies before with the clear nets. I've also watched a fellow member catch fish using two large clear nets. He would use one net to try and get it to swim in the other.

I know there is a certain satisfaction in catching your own livestock. But sometimes it's easier to just buy it from the store :)

It's always easier to buy from the store, but it's more fun to collect your own :D

Thanks for the insight. I've heard of that method. Worst case scenario, I know a guy that sells local critters (it's legit). So that's one route if anything.

Definitely more fun! :D haha

Key largo. Wouldn't be able to live any further south, I go to Miami often. Plus have season tix to the Canes! Lol love it down here though. Wouldn't change it for anything. It's a different world.

Hey mate, I know I'm know where near your area but I have got to follow this build:). Setup looks good(a little dirty but you'll clean it up nice) good luck and have fun with it:beer:

Yo! No problem, welcome aboard! Definitely going to have fun with it. Take my time and do things good

Nice, those pumps are supposed to be excellent:). The tank looks very nice(I like that overflow). Lots of scrubbing to do on that filter for sure, but will be great when done:). Keep it up mate:beer:
