75g planning...general Tunze info needed

Hi Roger,

I am in the very early planning stages of a 75g Oceanic tank. I currently have an SPS/LPS nano and will be transferring those corals over to the 75g. I will be adding some clams and softies as well in the future. I will have a 3" sand bed. My questions:

1. What type of Tunze Streams would you recommend? I think two 6000 with a 7095 so I can lower the output if needed.

2. I have read you use a wavebox in your 75, would this be practical and if so, would you still have the 6000's? Would the placement of the wavebox be to obtrusive in a standard 75g? Can the wavebox be placed on the back wall and not a side wall?

3. Do you have any photos of your 75?

Thanks for your time.

I will try to get some photos tomorrow. I have yet to add any SPS as I am waiting to get a calcium reactor. My tank is bare bottom.

My recommendation would be one 6000 and the wavebox.

Thanks Roger. After my original post I was reading some about the wavebox and have one additional question. With the Oceanic 75 the overflow is offset to one side, do you think it will have problems with the wave created since it isn't centered on the back wall?

Looking forward to seeing your 75.

Their are more pictures in my gallery. It has only been running for 6 months and is largely a test tank for equipment so it isn't too fancy.

I think you will be fine with the overflow on the Oceanic.

with the tunze do you still use other types of powerheads, like a maxi...or is it just the tunze and nothing else
