Hi everyone,
I'm currently setting up a 230g tank, and I'm thinking of using my old 75g RR tank as the sump.

To people who have modified their tanks into sumps, where to you get the glass/acrylic to make baffles with?? Any suggestions on how the tank should be divided up and how flow should go??

Thanks!

NOOOO! Sell the RR tank and get a standard tank. :) It would be easier I think.

I would use glass baffles. 1/4" thick, try to find some local glass cutters around your area. cost me 28 bucks to get 4 pieces cut for my sump/refugium.

As for the sump, overflow can be small unless you are planning to run a big skimmer. try to keep the return chamber as big as you can, this way the water level will not drop as quick (it will be the only chamber that will flutuate with water level). a big refugium is best, but a refuge is better then nothing.

I agree, a RR tank is worth much more as a tank than a sump! Maybe someone will even swap you a 75 for a 75 RR!
