75g stand design

It realy depends upon the manufacturer of the tank and when it was built. I personaly have 2-75 gallon tanks,
Tank A = 49" X 19"
Tank B = 48" X 18 1/2"

Now I also know on Acrylic manafacturer builds his 75"s for an exact external dimension of 48" X 18", however it reality that tank does not even hold a full 70 gallons.

What made you choose 19.5"x49.5" for the top dimensions? I was under the impression a 75g was 20"x48". I figure the extra 1.5" on the lenth is for 3/4" trim?

finally got some pics of my finished stand...

wow. that looks great.

did you purchase your doors?

do you have any pictures before it was painted? what kind of wood did you use for the skin and how thick?

Yeah, looks great...I'll be getting my 75g up and running soon...

Two suggestions though...one, move your macro out of the display tank and in to the sump...

Second, run your sump light on a timer on the opposite cycle of your show tank...this will keep pH swing from happening...

Good luck...

jdircksen - I made those doors with 1/4" ply and bordered it with 1x4's. I used 1/4" sanded pine for the skin also. The only other pics I have are on page 1. I dont have pics of the skin unpainted.

Hopeful Reefer - That 20g down there isnt a sump, yet. Im using it right now to quarantine a sick kole tang. But I will be moving the cheato to a sump and running the sump lights on opposite cycle when I get the sump up and running.

Phyxius - thanks for the compliment.
