White Tail Bristle Tooth Tang would be the show piece. I've actually been looking for one for a long time. I know LA just had some but I have a Powder Blue in my quarantine currently. I would do a Starry Blenny. It has a lot of personality. As far as dwarf angels, I've had a lot of luck with a Potters in a SPS/LPS reef tank.

Have you considered any Anthias? A pair pf Lyretail would be cool.

They are comparable to a kole or tomini tang in size and behavior. I am finding they are coming in yo yhe trade with greater frequency, so they shouldnt be outrageously priced, and if you waited one will show up again.

What is a good price for it if I were getting it from a hobbyist and/or a retailer.

A I was thinking of a Midas, harp tail or starry blenny. The starry is probably at the top of the list because of its price and personality.

Angels I'm leaning toward are Eiblii, Potters, black and white bicolor, or a Multibarr. The multibarr maybe my last choice because of price and their liking for sps.

I was initially going to do a set of 3-4 anthias but then thought the tank would be to small, adding them may make the bioload hard to manage and there aren't a log of hiding spots so that would be another concern.

I paid $70 for my Kole at a LFS a few months back. He is definitely the boss of the tank. He's in the middle of this picture, but not the best shot, I admit.

I've had a couple fish die on me...learning experiences. The stock list so far is...

In the DT
2 Ocellaris clowns (laying eggs)
Splendid dottyback

In the QT
Kole tang
Male lyretail anthias
Starry blenny
Cherub pygmy angel

Potential additions are...

Blue spot jawfish
Cleaner or fairy/flasher wrasse
Another Cherub to make a pair
A pair of neon gobies (would do in place of the cleaner wrasse)
Flame Hawkfish
1-2 Female lyretails anthias
RBTA

I know I can't add all those fish. The stock list is already getting kind of long. Suggestions?

Don't be surprised if the Kole bullies the starry once it settles in (you may or may not see this in QT). They're not really compatible because they eat the same things, and Koles can be bullies. I would actually consider returning the blenny while it's in QT and easy to catch and substitute a midas or other plankton eater.

Probably get rid of the Koke before the blenny.

I only have experience with Koles, but I'm imagining that the other bristletooth tangs would do the same.

FWIW, I would also choose the blenny if it were me.

Since you live in GB, not sure if you drive down to Milwaukee often? Best Fish in Martin Luther King St. is hands down the best local fish store in entire WI, best price and a large stock, as well as all kinds of dry goods.

I used to live in Milwaukee & Best Fish is the place that got me in to the hobby!

^^ Bi-color angels are one of the dwarf angels more notorious for picking at corals. They are also said to be harder to acclimate to life in the aquarium.

I have what we'd like to call at work an area of opportunity...:spin2: Flatworms...I want to get a Dusky or Vroliks wrasse or some other type of wrasse to eat them. The Dusky is listed as difficult to care for on LA. Why are Dusky wrasses difficult to care for? Any caveats on the Vroliks species or other recommendations?

A melanarus should do the trick. They are probably easier to find than a Vrolik's and probably cheaper. I loved my melanarus - I had to rehome him though because I needed to get some pepp shrimp for an aiptasia problem. Great fish.

Yes a melanurus would be fine. They are the same genus so I'd expect them to have very similar behavior. It seems that some have reported that they will eat shrimp but others have said that they don't. I have snails, hermits, sea stars and a cucumber. I may end up getting a shrimp and taking a chance with it.
