Great Pics Joe...very clear!

Hope you don't mind a couple comments/questions....

Why did you decide to leave the heater in the display?
The large cap in the center, because of the angle, is most likely gonna start growing a little off of its original swirling patturn.

that heater is temporary...there is a titanium heater in the sump too. The rock work is also temporary so the cap will be moving too :D

Joe,
What T5 setup did you go with? What brand/spectrum bulbs are you using? How do you like the T5s so far compared to the MH of your old setup?

its a 5 bulb fixture from Aquactinics. I have 3 oceanPro bulbs, 1 super Actinic, and 1 Pure Actinic. I like it a lot...the tank is pretty crisp looking and not to blue. All my corals appear to be liking the light.

As for the brain...have had it for awhile...it actually looks better now with the new light. It's fully extended which is something new :D

Joe - Looks great.

You'll have to let me know how you make out with the mushrooms. I have had trouble with mushrooms under my T5s -- seems to be too much light. They don't die, but they tend to stay small and not propagate. The only ones that do well are the ones that are hidden from the light by a rock overhang.

Looks good. Nice light intensity.

I'm sold on the black back ground;) Draws your attention to all the colors before it.

What holds up the small coral propagation rack in the back magnets? How do you set one up. I think I'm in need of one.

Kevin I've also had difficult times with my shrooms & softies adjusting to my lighting. I have kept my Shrooms in shaded areas and for awhile they looked great, but as of lately they don't open as full. Some have released and spread else where's in my tank. It took along time for my Sacro and Devils hand to adjust and open up. Only within the last couple weeks have they begun looking great.

Joe,

It looks great! Now I can't wait to order my T5s - but on your hint about improvements I am going to wait until after the first of the year. Which means that my Deltec is going on my 20 gal cause I just can't wait!

I am thinking that looking for shade for my mushrooms is a nice 'high class problem'.

my shrooms are doing ok...they are looking normal My neon green sacro seemed to not approve of the light so I put it in a slightly shaded area and it seems better today. Overall everything is lookin happy.

great tank i want a aquatinics fixture tell me about its brightness ie how bright to white too blue when everything you can think of

you wanna call me cell we can chat...but otherwise it's gonna take a lot of typing on my part :) and I hate to type

Looks great Joe! I think you made a good choice with the Aquactinics fixture. If I did it again I'd get that one over the 6 bulb tek that I have now, especially after seeing them at MACNA.
Nice pix too btw!
