would a glass tank weaken if it stayed outside for 5 years plus. i learned that you should never rush this hobby. it looks in good condithion except for the lower plastic trim is cracked. should i replace it or replace entire tank. i also have it drilled (1 hole top left)and would like more holes for a calfow overflow, and possible future closed loop. is this wise to drill holes in a 75g. also whats good size tank to make into sump/fuge. lastly i have an old icecap 660 ballast and learned that its hard to find VHO bulbs and that t5 are popular, could this ballast support T5 and is it a good choice. any feedback would be great, and i thank you.

Drilling an aquarium is the way to go IMO. I can't comment on weather or not your tank is now weak from sitting for five years but would suspect it is fine. Fill it up and see what happens :D

Your ice cap 660 is a great ballast and will run either t-12 or t-5 bulbs. T-5's are more popular but the t-12' are available at most on line stores too.

i know that SW tank with coral you must have RO water. i remeber what a pain it was clearing the shelf of the local grocery store of there RO water. this time around im going to get ro/di unit myself. just wondering which to stay away from and ones to get. i dont want one then find out it is impossible to find replacement cartrige/filter. i also got my hands on a 20g long tank (30x12x12). thinking about parting it into 3 parts for sump/fuge. i remeber doing diy stuff with plexyglass for my FW, but found that stuff stinks to cut. whats best material/glue to use when partitioning a glass tank?

We use spectrapure because it is a quality unit however any good quality unit will work ,like everything else in this hobby if you go cheap you will just end up buying the right product later.

i have been looking at the RO/DI unit from bulkreafsupply.com. does anyone have this and would like to share their like/dislike with it. also are more stages worth it

I would go with the Oceanreef +1 from the filter guys. They have a good filter and you can call them with questions any time and get a live person instead of a machine.
