8 D batteries 12 volts - How long will it last?

Does anyone know if you have 8 D Batteries and 12 volt pulling from the 8 batteries how long will the batteries last.

It would depend on the load a lite bulb or a pump.

It is actually for a Toy Jet ski that the kids can ride in the pool.. It says it is a 12volt motor.. I was going to pick it up and then seen it is powered by 8 D's Batteries instead of the 12Volt recharable Battery they have in the little Cars.

I don't want to buy it and have to replace Batteries every 2 days. That would cost a ton.

I'd guess you certainly wont get 2 days out of them with kids using it! You might get some of those rechargable nicad cells for it though. That could be a more affordable option. I'm guessing the run time would be similar or a little less than in the cars and jeeps but ours would die in an hour or so of use.

yeah, you can get recharables with 15 min charge times now. pretty cheap. i got my last set from walgreens on sale. like $10 for 8 of them w/charger
