at an LFS there is an 8'x1'x1' glass tank with plastic trim. Im not sure of the glass thickness but i have a 4'x1'x1' with 1/4" glass so id think the 8 footer is 3/8"s. I believe the bracing is just one in the middle but id take it safe and go with 2 braces evenly spaced out. HTH
How does it look. Are the dimensions neat? I just took some measurements of the wall it will go against and it happens to be about 8 1/2 feet give or take. Talk about made to me.
I'm thinking I might want to bump up the dimensions a bit. 12" is really slim.
16" wide and 14" tall looks about perfect using a tape measure. One thing I think would be nice about acrylic is the weight of the empty tank would make it easier to move. I live in a tiny basement suit with narrow hallways so maneuvering around is tricky. The tank could possibly have to enter the house through a window, haha. Actually, I can guarantee it.
What is the thinnest acrylic I can use with only cross bracing, up to every two feet?
