I have nine different sps frags in my 40 breeder so far and I would like input on where to keep each to either retain or attain its' best color and growth.
I am hoping to hear from reefers experienced in keeping these corals.
TIA!

Under 6x39w T5
3x - ATI Blue+
1x - KZ New Gen
1x - KZ Coral Light
1x - ATI Purple Plus

40 breeder is 16" high and the lamps are 3.5" above the water surface, actively cooled.

1. ORA Bird of Paradise
2. ORA Perlberry
3. Rainbow Montipora
4. Superman Montipora
5. Tyree Red Setosa
6. Tyree Undata(green with blue rim)
7. ORA Red Table Acro
8. ORA Kelly Green (covered completely in short hairs, no thin branching, no visible pores
9. ORA Yellow/Green Fuzzy (some kind of acropora)

All of these do best in mid to high lighting. The best thing to do is always place new sps on the bottom then after a week or so move them up. Find a place where each coral is happy. The coral will kind of tell you what it needs if you know what to look for. That comes with time. I have my Red Planet, Undata and Superman all up pretty high under 250w MHs and am getting good growth and color from them.

At only 16" high, you are going to be frying SPS with a 6x t5 sitting that low. Mine is 8.5" above the water's surface and only running 6 bulbs for 2hrs a day slowly acclimating sps to 6hrs.

The 6 lamps are up to 4.5 hrs now. 2 lamps for 12 hrs.
Slowly ramping up to 6hrs for all six lamps and 12 hours for two.

Setosa and Superman seem to do best in lower light levels of the tank IME. Setosa goes light pink in higher light.

Funny my superman gets the best red and blue color when I have it getting blasted by MH lighting. The higher I place it the more blue comes out.

My setosa is young but its done better in lower light. +1 to pearlberries high and high flow. Superman high as well with good flow. I find this true for all the encrusting montis that ive kept. My pokerstar is nuts right in the highest par of my tank. itll be a stunner when it grows up! Good luck, those are all nice coral and im sure most will adapt to wherever you put them in such a shallow tank. Just watch them when acclimating. take it slow and wait til the color richens if thats a word. Youll see a sheen to the color when they are developing their sunscreen ime. This is a good time to leave them where they are. If they stay dark ya gotta move em up. Too light, move em down
