90 -> 20 -> 30 gallon fish questions

I had a 90 gallon drilled system that needed to be downsized to a 20 tall I had sitting around the house.

Fish that moved from the old 90 to the 20
- 2 bangaii cardinals
- 1 blue yellow tail damsel
- 1 perc clown\w Rbta
- 1 engineer goby

the new system I am in the process of setting up is a 30 X-high with 15 gallon sump, should there be any issue moving the same fish over to the 30 or should I narrow it down when I move the fish.

You might have a problem with aggression coming form the damsel in a smaller tank.

I think a 30 high is too small for a larger Engineer Goby. I would be looking to rehome it. Otherwise, you should be ok with the rest. I would add the Cardinals first to get them established before adding the damsels.

I am curiouse why everyone is saying to ditch the goby? is it the bioload or is it the size of the fish? He has always been a model citizen and is living under a 14 x 8 inch piece of LR with 3 or 4 entrances all around the perimeter. This rock is set on a sheet of egg crate on the glass.

I was already considering rehoming the damsel and probably will do so.

Both. They get up to 12" long, which is half the width of the tank. Live Aquaria recommends a 48" wide 55 gallon, which seems much more suitable.
