90 Gal reef for the girls.

Yeah it looks cool. I'm still going to put another two T-5's in there. Can't wait to get everything in the canopy though.

Man, I really like what you have done with this project. Makes my future 150 look so ghetto lol! I like the aquascaping. Kinda looks like one of those Japanese aquascaped tanks.

After a minor overflow with the fuge the other day I started thinking that if anything ever happened to the out flow of it I would be screwed. The Hammerhead will keep pushing water to the 90 and the 90 will keep draining into the fuge and the fuge would keep overflowing until all the sump water was on the floor.

After talking with Scott yesterday I decided that I'm going to drain the fuge and drill another bulkhead higher than the first and plumb it to the sump to act as a backup drain if the outflow ever becomes clogged or blocked with anything or if I have my in flow adjusted too much.

This may help the bubble situation if I can keep the out flow bulkhead to the 125 fully submerged I will not have to worry about the water level creeping up on me. I can't seem to find a sweet spot with the gate valve to keep the water level just above the bulk head without the level creeping up and overflowing. The only adjustment I could maintain was to let it suck a little air with the level just below the top of the bulkhead and that is what makes the bubbles.

I may be beating a dead horse to death here but the peace of mind I'll have by knowing that if it overflows it will go to the sump is worth the work.

I'm getting a tremendous amount of salt creep due to a ton of bubbles popping as the water goes into the overflow box. This picture doesn't really show it well.

I decide to solve this by making a cover for the overflow box. I think it turned out pretty nice and cut down on a lot of sound.

After that was done I jumped on the canopy to try and finish that up today. The durapoxy paint on the inside was still a little soft if you stick your fingernail in it but I have to get it on sometime and I'm tired of waiting. I started by wiring in the fans.

I'm still unhappy with how the warped plywood front door affected it lining up with the rest of the canopy. I think I may build another one in the near future and maybe do a three panel front to try and match the base a little better. Anyway here is the finished product sitting in place all lit up.

Looking great Tim. You may want to rethink the cover though. I made one just like that (well not as professional looking) and ended up loossing my male 8-Line Flasher when he jumped and landed on the cover. He ended up a piece of Jerky. Now I have a wedge covering the overflow so if anybody jumps they fall right back into the water.

may have missed this earlier in the thread but isn't this a gravity fed sump?
The tank water from both the 125 and the 90 flow into their overflow boxes and gravity feed to the same sump.

Good Idea, I'll see if I can make something to do that.

Fantastic job Tim, it looks great! Wish I was going to be in town at the end of the month to see this baby in person. :(

It seems like a lot of people have other plans that weekend. Maybe I should change the date of the meeting.

Personally, I don't think you should change the meeting date. What works for some doesn't always work for other that's just the summer months and since this is your party, just go with what works for you. I'm sure I'll see it sometime. :D

Tim, keep the meeting date the same. It is a pain to try and change it and someone will enevitably get confused.

and what micron level are you running?
100 micron. I know Chris and Scott are also using 100 micron.

I get my socks from www.aquaticeco.com they are poly felt 100 micron.
Yeah keep the meeting date the same it's a mess changing it, you'll end up with just as many people having plans on a different weekend, then they'll all be confused as to the actual correct date.
Anyway tank looks great!
