Hello all I am new to the forum and just started a new tank build. I'm doing all of the work from the design and build of the stand and canopy to the sump and equipment needed to keep a good tank. I'm a little rusty at this since it has been about 7 years that I have owned a saltwater tank. I used to have a 50 gallon bow front with a 10 gal sump that I ran for about 3 years then ended up building a new home and didn't want to move the tank twice to get there :facepalm: . This tank build will take me a couple of months due to finance and time 
So we begin .... I just bought a 90 gallon 48" aquarium about 3 weeks ago and have been working on the stand. So far I have built the frame for the stand and canopy along with wrapping it with 1/2" Birch plywood. Next I have to start trimming the stand out which I should begin this week. The stand will end up being stained, so that is why I used the stain grade wood (Birch). The frame of the stand is made from 2X4's and the frame of the canopy is 1X2's. As you will see in the pictures to come I plan on having a panel on the canopy and stand for easy access. Pictures to come soon
