90 gallon setup and start

You're going to want to take the bioballs out for sure. Don't believe the myths. When I used them a few years ago, I wondered why my nitrates were through the roof. Blame the balls everytime. The setup is looking sweet though! :D

that was wat i was thinkin about because its in my room so i want it to be as quiet as possible so i could just fill it with rock rubble wat does everyone think of that?

the only problem that i have run into is that i cant get the second megaflow in because the one hole is bigger than the other so if anyone can tell me how to do the second one in the smaller hole that would be a huge help

-Tim

The overflow is 1" and the return is 3/4". If you want to use both as an overflow, you can, 1) enlarge he second hole in the glass, or you can get an adaptor going from 3/4" to 1". Just a thought but maybe you want to use the second pump for a closed loop.
Oh and I believe that the AGA mega flows are rated for 600, not 800. :)

"Aquariums up to 110 gallons are fitted with one MegaFlowâ"žÂ¢ Overflow and are rated for a maximum flow through of 600 G.P.H. (Using a rated 2,400 G.P.H. pump at a 5 foot head). "

Megaflow

I'm using my smaller hole as my return, but as I'm getting ready to move my sump from the stand to my basement, I might use it as a back up overflow.

well been i a while and this project is goin slow but i have a few updates

You may not want the turn over in your sump so high! The purpose of having a closed loop is turn the display over many times and not the sump. I have a 90 also and wanted to do two drains and two return pumps with wavyseas but was advised not to do so because the turn over would be too high through the sump and the skimmer would have a tough time trying to keep up! I'm no expert but it sounded good! Maybe someone could chime in who knows!

the other pump is goin through the wall to my chiller and then it will crawl up the back pf the tank and over the center brace and i will then T it off and shoot it back at the reef

yes i absolutely hate powerheads i try to make my reef look as real as possible i want to see as little hardware as possible

thx for the comments everyone

i love that look too. always hate seeing a beautful tank with hidious square boxes in the backround. now what is that black ball called with the three exits on it???

just found out what it is, its a wave maker, changes direction of flow of water. that is awesome. im warning ya now, i might be taking this idea. love it.
