I'm in the early planning stages of my next tank and wanted to make sure I'm correct in my understanding of the 9002's mounting abilities. From the documentation it appears that the mounts are on the short side of the skimmer with no way to mount on the long side, is that correct? Does anyone have dimensions of the exterior side of the mounts (Magnet or hanger style)? I may end up having to hang it off the baffles somehow and may just adjust the width on one of them to accomodate the hanging parts.

This is correct, but normally you would mount it in corner so you can just mount it on the side panel or back panel to get the position you want. The old clamp holder was replaced by a magnet holder very recently. Some dealers will have the older clamp holder design still in stock.
Couple more quick questions.
1) Is it OK to have the magnet mount submerged? (Reading on tunze.com it sounds like the two parts of 6025.50 are identical so I'm assuming it's OK)
2) Do the new kits have both the magnet and the original style hanger or just order 9002.250 if I end up needing a hanger?
