9002 pump question

Hello I bought a 9002 skimmer that someone tried to replace the pump with a maxijet pump and that is not working. I need a new tunze pump but have read where there is a new pump for this model. How do I know which pump to get, the older or new version? Does it matter? Thanks Eric

This is very difficult to determine without the old pump present. We have used two pumps and the baffling has changed for the different pumps, they are not interchangeable. The best would be if you could contact the seller and get the original pump model, on my end I don't have a older style body to reference, they changed the pump in late 2009. Older was 0800.040, current is 1073.008.
