Hey all

Who has done the air line mod?

Where do you have the water line on the skimmer. Above or below your water level?

What chemicals make the skimmer not skim and over skim?

How good of a skimmer would you say it is?

Btw i have a 9002 with the airline mod

The marked water line should never be below the actual water line, ideally it is about 1/4 to 1/2" above the actual water line.

Any surfactant type additive, generally organics, stress coats, dechlorinator, amino acids, vitamins, medications, algaecides.

The only point the airline mod serves is to make the air adjustment more accessible if it would otherwise be difficult to access due to a tight fit in a compartment, it will generally reduce the air flow due to the longer hose.

I read some where the marked line is a max water line. But now your saying the water line should be over that marked line. Ill give that a try.

Since i dosed NOPOX the skimmer has been all messed up. Think it needs a good cleaning. Thanks for the info

Yes, the marked line is the highest the actual water level should be, you ideally keep the actual water level below that mark.

I am not familiar with that additive but I suspect it is like AZNO3 which was basically a sugar and bacteria would feed on it and bond nitrate to it and the skimmer went into overdrive to remove it as a clear liquid, that would be normal if that is what it is.
