9002 skimmer questions

i set up my 9002 nano skimmer last night and it is pulling in a ton of water into the collection cup, as well as leaking some micro bubbles from the bottom. to give you an idea the collection cup would fill up with clear water in about half an hour of skimming. is this all part of the "break in" period? the air valve is closed all the way and i have tried raising the skimmer about half and inch. i know that it is not supposed to start pulling dark skimmate out for awhile because of the "break in" time, but is it supposed to be pulling so much water? thank you for all the help

well i opened it up and fiddled around with it and now the water filling up the cup problem has stopped, the bubbles are right where it says they need to be in the manual, however the microbubbles are still flowing like mad out of the bottom, the slit away from the magnet side. help?

There are a few things that could cause this but with the skimmer being new the likely culprit is that like any other it will create more mircobubbles in the short term, as it breaks in the problem should lessen/go away over the course of a few days.

Possible other causes are water conditioners or some other additives, high KH above 14, oxygen saturation, or the green jet pipe is not connected to the end of the venturi nozzle.

thanks for the help, but i'm going to say it was all part of the break in, because i woke up this morning and looked over at my tank from my bed and just said, "woah". haha theres not a micro bubble in sight and the cup was full of narly looking water, yay for tunzes! thanks!
