9002

Hi Roger
I have a 9002 that is pushing 6 years old and may need a new pump. The impeller is definitely shot. The inside of the pump is discolored, almost looks burned, but is smooth to the touch. I thought about just getting a new impeller but didn't want to go to the trouble if I should just replace the whole thing. How much is a new pump? Thanks!

You need part 0800.040, it is about $45, Premium Aquatics has them and you can order one on Tunze.com. We do have them in stock. Do not order 1073.008, this is the pump the 9002 has used for the last 2 years, it is not interchangeable.

Thanks Roger.
Could the new style pump be used if the outlet pipe and nozzle are updated or is the skimmer housing different?
Are the mounting magnets available separately as well?

You would need a new 9002.100 housing, this then becomes a $100 project and not worthwhile. There is no real reason to change, the new pump is marginally quieter and marginally stronger, we are talking like 5gph and 5db. The magnets are part 6025.500, they are available as a seperate spare part. The pump won't fit because one is tall and the other is long and the mounting and baffle plates are differently positioned.
