9005 inside the tank - any thoughts?

I am getting a 46 bow to set up as a reef tank. Mostly soft corals and basic fish. I'm trying to keep things as self contained and simple as possible. No sump for now.

Considering a Tunze 9005 or similiar skimmer, to run inside the tank. I would do a hang-on, but I'd like to keep the set-up as quiet and close to the wall as possible. I know I'll be giving up a little space in the tank.

Any insight would help. Bubble problems? Other issues I haven't thought of? Any other skimmers that would be better running in the tank?

Thanks.

I used to run Tunze 3115, which was the previous version of 9005 in my 46g bow front tank a couple of years ago. It worked flawlessly with very low noise. I would expect the same low noise with a better performance given its new design and improvement in skimming.

Hope this helps.

I just set up a Nano Reefpack 200 on a fairly established 46 bow for a friend. I think that might also be a good option but the ideal in my opinion is the Reefpack 500, it is a bit big yes, but it is no bigger than a built in overflow and it would also provide surface skimmer 400gph of flow, the osmolator is included so the water level is automatically topped off and you have a filter that you can run media in as needed.

I just bought the 9005 for in the tank use on my 40g breeder. My 9010 on my 75g is virtually silent. Awesome skimmers!!
