9005 question

I have a 9005 en route and i have just been reading a few posts about how if I want to use it in the sump, i need more parts?

Can't I just attach it to the side of the sump as if it were "in-tank" ?

Thanks for any guidance.

It needs a constant 10" water level unless you get the accessory kit 9005.40. If you can provide the constant water level it should be OK.

the 9005 arrived last night, but I think it's broken.

The bottom had fallen off and the internals were loose in the box. There was a small bit of broken plastic (i know that part is broken, though minor) and a clear, rigid tube assembly with black plastic ring loose.

Is that clear tube supposed to be attached inside? I stuck it on the end of the pump but it just doesn't sit right in there - the clear rigid tubing doesn't say beneath the little half-dome like it should.

I'm probably going to return this, but just wanted to verify.

siver lining, - I might get them to send back a 9010 in its place, as it seems that is a better deal, once you factor in the sump kit.

Hi Roger,

Just wanted to say thanks for the fantastic customer service.

The replacement skimmer arrived today in good shape.

Between you down there and Phil up here in Canada, Tunze really has done well with their representation in North America - and I intend to drop the German office a line and let them know just that.

:)
