9005 Skimmer Tips

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for the new Tunze DOC skimmers? I have one of the new 9005 I'm trying out in my tank, it's been in for 2 weeks, with very negligible results. The 3110/2 I toke out performed much, much, much better.

Any tips, tricks, suggestions would tremendous help.

Notes on use so far:
- Air setting seems a bit odd. Even when I close the valve all the way the water level doesn't fluctuate, and air seems to still be mixing.
- Bottom panel seems to want to open on it's own, if the pump is resting on it a bit.
- Tends to randomly shoot a # of micro-bubbles into the tank occassionally.

The air setting should only increase the air flow, the water level shouldn't fluctuate. It should be open about 2.5-3 turns.

I would check that everything is properly assembled, cable is guided through the notch and the pump nozzle is inside the jet pipe and the venturi hose is attached.

The micro bubbles can be controlled by closing the shutter door.
