9010 and Foam Extract Unit

I recently purchased a DOC 9010 skimmer. It has been running about 4 weeks and it is producing some skim. I purchased the Foam Extract Unit 9020.140 which Marine Depot said worked with the 9010. I tried inserting the unit in the 9010 and it did not sit all the way down. In looking at the Unit it has ridges on the outside of it that the 9010 cup does not. Will this Unit work with a 9010 and if so how or what do I need to do.

It should just have a single ring around it and insert to the depth of the ring?

Thanks for the response. It does have a single ring, but it did not insert all the way until the ring rested on the skimmer. It stopped with the ring about an 1/2 inch above the skimmer.

My mistake. It doesn't sit on the skimmer like the cup. I needed to push it down. Took more force than I wanted to give it at first.
