9010 Light on Its Feet?....

First, thanks for the recent help in other matters. My Marine Depot order was delivered on time and complete....amazing.

Question about the DOC 9010.....

I have it in a sump compartment with the water level fairly close to the mark on the skimmer box...I realize that's not a requirement, but might it be causing the problem of the skimmer seemingly being weightless and wanting to float around the sump. I have the rummer suction cups on the bottom, but they don't adhere all that well.....

Before I jerry-rig a solution, should I be expecting this much bouyancy?

This thread might help, it should fill with water and the suction cups are just to act as feet, not to actually hold it down. I would double check everything, it may be momentarily bouyant but I suspect you have mixed some of the parts for in tank and some for in sump so it is too well sealed.

mine too (9015) is near the water-line and is relatively light (can easily sway back and forth if pushed) i didnt pay much attention to it - i think it's just the way they are as they are rather light.
when placing it into the sump, do so slowly to allow for the water to fill it up inside.
