9010 not pumping

I just set up my new 9010 for insump use. i put the bottom on with the suction cups and the riser tube. opened the door all the way. but i get no output from the skimmers return. when i powered it up it made a normal sound like it was priming then nothing. is this nowmal? i would assume that if it is pumping it should flow out the return. thanks for the help

The pump is running? If so the normal cause is that the bottom door is not in all the way or it is in backwards, the bevel should face forward. The other possible cause is the pump isn't in properly and the coupler between the inlet and the pump is loose.

Or i was just stupid and forgot to put the piece behind the door for the pump. thanks for getting back to me.
