9010 Problem

My skimmer keeps on bubbling out of the cup within minutes when I turn it on.

When I take the collection cup entirely out, the bubbles will be so extensive it will actually bubble out of the "little holes" around the top of the skimmer itself. When I put the collection cup out, it will bubble out of the cup as well as around the base of the collection cup and the same holes. I was wondering if there is anyway to resolve this issue.

The only thing I added to my aquarium (85 gallon with a 20 gallon sump) is a few packets of erythromycin about 3.5 weeks ago. I since I have not run the skimmer since and I have done 4 water changes, about 25% of my tank each. I also changed out any media that I run in the aquarium.

Any help would much be appreciated, thanks in advance.

The erythromycin is the cause assuming you didn't change the water level or anything else. I have seen this before, it basically acts like a detergent (surfactant) and causes very fine bubbles which travel much further. It will work itself out, the best solution would be to turn down the airflow and raise the skimmer a bit for now and dump whatever collects in the cup. Keep running carbon and maybe try polyfilter.
