9010 pump stopped

Roger,

9010 has been operating flawlessly for a couple of months now. The pump appears to have frozen/burned out. Please advise whether to send it in to you for repairs. It did not run dry and showed no symptoms leading to its failure.

Check that the magnet of the impeller assembly is not cracked. It would be very unusual for a pump to just die. If it hums or vibrates at all it probably is something wrong with the impeller.

I seem to have fixed it, thank you. One quick question: do these pumps have some sort of thermal protection; a breaker if the pump should seize?

Yes, they do, but this breaker can only switch so many times before it burns out so it is best to be sure whatever issue the pump had is remedied.
