9010 pumps quits

Hey Roger - I got the Venturi in place and that took care of the bubble thing. If you recall I have always a bit of a time getting the pump to start though. With some banging around it would usually shutter around a bit and then start up. Now in the past three days I can't get more than a couple of hours before it stops. It did have some Ca deposits on it so I just did a vinegar wash and got all the deposits off. It even quit in the rinse bath a few times devoid of any Ca deposits. It runs and then stutters like it's out of balance with no output and then impeller just stops moving (even in the bath with no presure so to speak on it) What to do?

Update - OK, pump is clean like new. In a bowl of water pud it in, on she goes. Runs for several mins, then sputters like out of balance and stops. Put the skimmer back together v=becasue maybe with the salt water and some back pressure it'd work. Same thing, a few mins on, then sputter, then stop. If I was lucky I could just tilt the skimmer 45 degrees a few times and the flow would start again. Sadly it would repeat the same cycle again within a few mins.

Assuming the impeller blades are not damaged, the most likely cause is part 3000.62 bearing bush has slipped out and is sticking up a bit. Push it in and this should solve the problem.

Roger - I went to see what was loose or may have slid up and this is what I discovered (see pic). I am assumng this is not supossed to come off because it is really loose fitting. Is that the piece you were talking about?

Nope, the piece I am referring to is a bushing at the top surface of the hole, there are two notches for extracting it with a slotted screwdriver. If it is not fully inserted it can cause this problem.

So it's OK that that bottom piece comes off? I stood the impeller on end and compressed it downwards. Didn't seem that anything slid on any tighter and I do not see any big obvious gaps between the pieces even if I try to seperate the components. Put her all back together and it started right up. Then it was exactly 4 mins before it quit again.

The bottom piece is a bearing that the magnet spins on, it should be free of the magnet. Yes, it should easily come off. Underneath the bearing should be a red oring and then the last piece is the bushing at the top of the hole.

red O ring is there at the bottom of the slot/hole the impeller goes into. At the top of the opening it is raised about a 1/16, maybe an 1/8 of an inch or so. The piece it self is about 1/2", I am assuming that is the bushing you are talking about. Do you need more pics? Have any other ideas? What to do? I can't get it to run more than 5 mins before it quits. I was all excited to kiss my Prism Skimmer good-bye and now it's all I got :(
