9010 Skimmer In SumP?

I am running my 9010 on the bottom of the sump without an extension set. The problem is that it keeps moving around and won't stay in one spot. If I maintain the proper water level will the skimmer perform correctly by replacing the slotted cover with aspirator cover 9010.200 and suction cups or do I need the complete extension set? The reason I ask is because I noticed the aspirator cover in the extension kit does not have slots.

You can do a sort of hybrid install, you would completely remove the cap where the pipe would insert from the extension set and you can then use the bottom plate with suction cups, the only draw back will be microbubbles.

Can the 9005.400 extension set be used on skimmer 9010?

Yes, however it is included with a 9010 or the new 9011, it is only optional on the 9005 or new 9006.
