I am looking to upgrade my skimmer but I have been trying to upgrade to things that I can move to a larger tank i.e. 180-280 still havent decided. I have a 75 right now with a 30 gallon sump/fuge.

I was thinking of the Euro Reef 180 but it is too big for my sump so I saw the rating of the 9015 was pretty good but usually lower than what is rated at. But after get a Osmolator I am sold on Tunze products. So I have come to the option of going with maybe a euro reef 80 or the 9010. So my question is on the 9010 can I later add another 9010 to it to make it a 9020 or do you have to buy a 9020 for it to use one pump. I am just trying to spend money on things that will only be a one time purchase for my larger tank.

You should get the 9020 so you don't have to worry about buy another 9010 later. If i remember correctly, the 9020 came with 2 pumps. You can always turn one off if it is too much for your tank...

I would get a 9020 or if you are not in a hurry a 9410 or 9420 when the new models come in October. The 9410 would be only capable of a 180 at most so you would need to firm up your final goal a bit.

Roger,

Need to probably upgrade now, running a SeaClone150. But can I get a 9010 now and add a 9010 later to make it a 9020 or do you have to get a 9020 now. Just didnt want to have to spend the $$ now if I didnt have to.

Run over to Aquatek today, I know they have 9010's in stock.

Yes, you can do that, a 9020 is actually more like 2 9015's but 2 9010's could work.
