9010 skimmer

Greetings- I am having some trouble with my 9010 skimmer. It seems that maybe the pump is no longer working. I have taken it apart and reassembled it and still nothing. What happens is that the skimmer Chamber only fills up to the exact level of the water that it is sitting in (in sump) and does not push anything through the overflow tube.
Is it possible to send my skimmer in for troubleshooting and repair? The skimmer had been sitting unused for about 5 months and previous to that it was working fine.
Thank you

Yes, but have you tried taking the pump out and just disassembling and cleaning it? The must common culprit on a pump that was fine, dried and now doesn't work is just hardened salt and lime locking it up.

I did give it a cleaning to the best of my ability and still came up with nothing. At this point I think it is best if I leave it up to the Tunze experts to help me out.
Thanks again

Just be sure your return info and phone number are in the box.

Roger- I inquired about sending in this skimmer about a month ago and have not got around to it. Can I send it in now for servicing?

thank you

Roger- I have received confirmation that that the skimmer has reached the Austin office. Not to bug but generally what is the turnaround time?

Thanks again

I got it yesterday and started working on it today. I found no major problems, it was a bit dirty so my first step is to clean everything and test it. It is running now in vinegar and water. It should be clean tomorrow and I will start further testing. It should be ready to send back by Friday.

I tested your skimmer yesterday and within 30 minutes it was starting to skim. I am not sure what was wrong when you sent it in but no parts were required, I disassembled it, cleaned it and reassembled it that was all. My guess is that there was enough sediment in the venturi to impede bubble production.

I could not get the pump to push water through the overflow tube , water just sat in the skimmer chamber. I tried to clean out the pump but had no luck.

It may have not been in correctly, when it came in the front cover plate with the outlet pipe wasn't fully inserted but I assumed that was from shipping.

After cleaning and assembly I set up the skimmer in a sump at the LFS while I had lunch next door, this is the result of 30 minutes. I am not sure what was wrong but no parts were broken or damaged, it was either just cleaning or assembly.

That looks awesome. Thank you for taking the time to look at it and I apologize if it wasted any of your time as it looks as if all really needed was a thorough cleaning.

Thank you very much
