i have practically no foam ever; i thought for a while it was beacuse i had veyr few animals, but now that i have alot, the poorly operating skimmer is causing nitrates to raise

they are almost at ten ... i'm nervous that your equipment might cause the demise of these beautiful animals ....

any help?

How long has it been running? Have you tried opening the air adjustment screw? Are you running it in tank or in sump?

roger i've heard great things about you ... its been running since about april and never got good foam .. nitrates in tank barely read on api test strip so i thought it had nothing to foam ... but not nitrates are rising ... i have adjusted the screw, tho i try not to very often hoping it will regulate ... to be honest it barely looks like its creating bubbles when i look down in it .... i have cleaned it recently and know that nothing is clogged ... im just very nervous thinking i made a wrong decision thinking it would kick into gear

I think either the air hose is pinched or your venturi nozzle is likely broken or defective. This would explain the low air flow. Please check that the air hose is not pinched between the skimmer body and the pump. I will post pictures of a broken and intact venturi.

This is how a not broken nozzle will dissassemble. The air line nipple should fit snug in the hole.

This is one that was broken in shipping notice that the barrel end is broken off and stuck in the venturi nozzle.

Can you send me the skimmer without the cup? It has to be something relatively simple or a combination of small problems. Typically what I find in these cases is the venturi has a small flaw, the hose has a pinch or obstruction and a lot of sediments have accumulated in the skimmer and it is the combination of a few small problems and not one major problem.
