9015 skimmer dead again

this is the 2nd time this skimmer is not working sick of taking it apart its only 4 months old you think you buy a quaility product and turns not out to be . i am so discusted in this skimmer, wish i never bought it 500 dollers waisted i refuse to keep taking it down may and then it only to work a few days . the bad thing is is that you are without a skimmer in the process, i had to go out and purchase another skimmer definatly not a tunze this time my wave box i had since august was sent into for service 2 times allready yes they fix it but then inconvience of sending it waiting for it to come back is not worth it as i see on here there are more problems with tunze products then are people that are happy with them.never never again maybe ill post a u tube video of blowing the thing up just for the satisfaction f it look around people before you jump into buying products beacause ther are many many good ones, and bad also i got aa bad one for sure
 
it seems that they have been having some issues with the 9010 and the 9015 just look at this forum. I have been having some problems with mine a little over a week into it. I might sell it as i already ordered a euro-reef to replace it. once my euro-reef comes in ill see which i like better but until then im stuck until i can get this thing fixed
 
i know i a tired of thinking the product quaility is there i didnt mind the money so much but you gotta send it in wait for it to come back meanwhile my tank needs a skimmer even if you buy cheap products you dont have that much problems with it never again so it cost me like 800 dollers beetween the tunze 9015 and the new one i had to uy cause the tunze is not working

What's the skimmer doing? Not producing foam, pump not working properly. Give alittle info here.
 
Troyman, it would help if you let us know the issue you have with your protein skimmer.

Does the pump stop running?

Does the pump run run but not producing any foam?
 
jar head it either runs and no foam or not run at all i am sick of sending stuff back to them as i said before i am not the only unhappy buyer of tunze products im not even gonna bother anymore i had to buy a new skimmer to replace a new tunze that semms not to work 500 dollers for a skimmer 4 months old and it dont work properly is pretty sad when we buy equipment for our tanks we need them to work not wonder everyday what it is gonna do or not do really its not worth the bother
 
Troyman, i am not sure what went wrong with your protein skimmer but i am very sorry to hear it happen. Please wait till Monday to see what Roger can do about it..
 
i should of looked around i have seen a lot of people having problems with this unit i follow directions like a bible it worked great for a short time. i am using zeovit sysyem as you know you have to have a good skimmer running at all times .so thats why i bought the 9015
 
It sounds like you don't want any help and have made up your mind but I am happy to fix it if you send it in. There is only one electromechanical part, the pump. If the pump works and the venturi system is not broken then the only other possibility is that the bottom cover has come loose and there is no pressure to form foam inside the skimmer. Any mechanical issue or defect would have to do with the pump itself and I am fully willing to fix it.
 
you know what not one time out of many many complaints about tunce products in this forum do i see send it in we will replace it with a new one hell with fixing a 500 doller skimmer 4 months old i had to buy a new one you dont expect somthing that costly to not work in 4 months so i spent 800 dollers to learn a lesson and as far as you saying i dont want help whats your help paying to have it sent in for somthing 4 months old to be fixed thats excellent customer service thats why 80 percent of this fourem is people dissatified with your product i am trying to get a refund where it was purchased ill do all i can do to recieve my money back for this faulty product that tunce calls quaility ill stick with the better known companys that have a good product and stands behind them and they last thats defintly not a tunze product
 
I wish you the best of luck, patience is a critical part of success in this hobby and should something go wrong with most other product you buy, you will need far more patience than you have demonstrated here. Any mechanical or electrical device can have an issue, and for all we know in this case the issue is something simple that could be remedied if you only were willing and able to post a logical thread about what was wrong and give some symptoms, I may have been able to walk you through a resolution.

This is a tech support forum, people come here when they need help, not when everything is fine. We sell hundreds of DOC skimmers a year and yet you read a dozen complaints, the vast majority work and even those that don't usually end up satisfied if they give me half a chance. Tunze has been in business for 50 years this year, and yes we make mistakes now and again, but we have always been willing to make them right.
 
as i said i dont want the product i want my money back im not asking it from you a 500 doller product should not not work after 4 months and what we see on here is only a small amount of people with tunze problems dont matter as you know in this hobby you need the equipment that you buy aand depend on it to work i allready bought a new skimmer i couldnt wait for 3 weeks to send it to you and get repaired and sent back when a good company would just replace it as stated am trying to get a refund on this item and again not from you and as being logical i dont want a 4 mnth old product just fixed it should be replaced but so be it i learned there seems lots of issues with your products you also have good luck think your company needs to change your policys even asking the customer to pay to send it back but i guess if you replaced all the faulty product they will soon be out of buisness but who knows give it time
 
Troyman i understand your frustration with the protein skimmer and the wavebox lets take a step back take a deep breath and go over what you have done and have not done with that protein skimmer most of the time the problem starting with the user not reading the user manual (i used to be one of them) ask yourself this question have i thoroughly read the user manual have i read all the trouble shooting pages i understand that your protein skimmer fairly new and should not have any problem but $hit happen with those who don't take their time to understand how the product work not every protein skimmer are the same i have use tunze product for over 5 years i have not encounter any problem with either the pump or skimmer some time i don't even clean my pump for a year my 9002 protein skimmer have been working very well for me and it never give me any problem talking about paying alot for a protein skimmer and it doesnt work well for you i know that feeling i paid $4k for a protein skimmer that break down on me 3 times a year and finally i get it to work
 
lol ill trade you skimmers i seen your new tank starting in your posting hope only the best for you i aslo using zevoit for lie 6 months so far so good speak of reading directions you gotta read and research zeovit use or it defeats its own purpose i do read directions step by step as part of the hobby you want to know everything to care for your tank i enjoy doing that i also dont have all the bells and whistles i use a wet dry filter with 3 trays first tray is a sheet of floss 2nd try is carbon and thrid is where the zeolite rocks are they stay sumerged at all times the rocks i like the the wet dry cause of the trickle of water it realeses gas and asorbs oxygen no bio balls tank is 125 with 175 pounds live rock a heater and a skimmer i change 20 gallons of water a week also a 3x 250 whatt halide 10.000k and 8 t5 38 whatts acticiniceveryones is happy and healthy rarly have a fish loss of coral and also 3 streamliner tunze and wavebox wwell good luck with new tank have fun its real fun starting a new one i want a seahore and pipe fish tank i have a 24gal aquapod that i think would be ok for them

My 9015 had issues with making foam after a while, and like Roger said above it was due to me pushing the bottom plate out of place. One time, when I first got it (used) the pump gave out and they replaced it for free, no questions asked. Most of the time, they'll replace any part on any unit for free, again no questions asked. I'm not sure why you're ranting on about great customer service and free replacements. Cut them some slack.
 
hey im over it it was a friday it went down i needed a skimmer in my tank i am using zevovit a skimmer is a must that would of been monday if they were even around then and the a 2 week waiting to send and get it back i dont think rent a center rents out skimmers good customer service is we will send you one right out and send olld one back not if you pay to send it in we will fix it and wait 2 3 weeks for it back as i said i am over it i am in many forums and so many people but these products and have problems with them good to let everyone know spread the word as they say as stated before i am working on getting this product refunded from where i purchased it i dont want a product 4 onths old for 500 dollers and dont work i took the thing apart and again and again nothing is out of place motor dont even go on how many people is willing to have a wave box and a skimmer inside the tank taking up the end of your tank if you didnt like the product i did i have a skimmer now very happy with it the tunze is useless to me now as far as great customer service i dont think it is at allmarineland i bought athere new canister filter the fitting on top was split i called them faxed them proof of purchase and i had another new filter in 2 days not a sent back one and fixed and they sent me return lable i sent the canister filter back that is customer service as most companys do well anyways over it for sure just never again and i would discourge any from fom buying there product
 
Your views on customer service are kinda off to me. It's like your comparing a mom and pop store to Walmart. Of course a large corparation is going to send you a brand new shiny skimmer and take the other one back, cause they can. Tunze may be a very large company and do plenty of business but compared to marineland they are a mom and pop. The fact that Tunze takes the time to teach you and help you with any issues you are having is good customer service and not once have I asked a question or brought a problem I had up and been turned away or not helped.

I understand your side of the story, I only argue the fact you bash thier customer service. When you think about it their service stands out from many companies that are out there. Customer service is why I went with Tunze products. You are definitly entitled to your opinion though and maybe Tunze products just aren't for you.
 
i guess there not there are much better products out there that are reliable and yes if you buy somthing and paid top doller for it and it lasts 4 months i do expect a new one who wouldnt and to boot you gotta pay to have it shipped to them as i said i will get a refund on this item and no tunze is not for me if its not a reliable product like i said way over it
 
Folks, lets put the STOP to this thread before the Moderator come in and lock it down (which is not pretty). I have been in this forum for many years and not once we have a thread locked down and would like to keep it this way.

Troyman, your issue with the protein skimmer have been heard and there is nothing Roger can do to help because you already decided to do something else. As for Zeovit system you DON'T have to have a protein skimmer running 24/7 to keep everything alive. You can go without it for a week if your equipment break down. I have been there as well as many zeovit user.


If you are not happy with Roger's way of solving problem, PM or call to his company. But take it offline...
