9015 skimmer hardly any foam

I used my 9015 skimmer happily in my old set up and when I swapped over to my new tank gave it a good clean and expected a similar level of performance.

I have now tried everything to get the skimmer back to its former glory to no avail. The pump has been stripped and cleaned and the venturi and airline cleaned too. It is situated in the sump and I have tried it for sump use and aquarium mode.

There are bubbles being produced but nowhere near enough to get up to the collecting cup. Every week or so a tiny amount of foam makes it over the top but really I am just paying the electric company money for nothing.

I am in the UK so cannot return the pump to the address shown on many threads here. Any ideas welcomed.

My guess would be something is wrong with the venturi/silencer system. We do have a UK office, you can find there info on the Tunze website.

After stripping the pump for about the 10tyh time I decided to think rather than just doing. I had forced the nipple that hold the airline into the pump and it had obviously went too far. I adjusted this and gave the pump cap a goog clean as I hadn't done that on previous occasions. I now have my skimmer back to its full glory. Thanks

Probably old news but on occasion have had the very inner hub come out of position and had to take apart and reseat.
Use it with the extractor cup. Lost the snapping of air sound with the air screw never being used. When repostioned and reseated the thing. The massive 50/50 air mix was back and the snapping/popping sound was back in full.

Also the pump was not starting up as fast which was another clue.
Probably a rare occurrance..... :strooper:
