So I picked up a 90g RR Perfecto tank three days ago. Here is my plan so far and my current questions

Tank 90g Perfecto Oak RR
Stand Perfecto Pine Oak
Heater 400w Heater
Sump Pump Mag 950
Light Current Extreme Pro 48" (6x54w T-5)
Sand 95lbs Aragonite Reef Sand (2")
Skimmer ASM G2

I am unsure of one main things which is the sump. I am not loaded and I want to spend the bulk of my money on the skimmer and lighting. So I am thinking of using either a large rubbermaid bin for a sump or a 29g tank. Either way I doubt I will put baffles in so wouldnt it be better to using the biggest thing I can fit under the tank I.E. a rubbermaid bin.

a 29g or a 20 long will be good as a sump. ive heard over time the rubbermaid tubs crack so i would steer away from them. the only thing i d add on the list would be another heater and if you didnt buy the skimmer yet get a g3 instead, same skimmer body with a bigger pump

making yourself a 20G glass tank shold not be that expensive/difficult. I just assembled my own 20g Frag tank.

its not. We sell a 29g tank for 45.00. If i do decide to through in some baffles i assume it would be much for glass/acrylic

I have a 20 long under my 90. I think it is too small. I did not baffle it. I have a Euro Reef 135 skimmer that takes up about 1/3 of the sump. I keep the water level aound 7 inches. I topped off everyday this winter about 2.5 gallons.

I would much prefer a bigger sump with a larger refugium section to at least increase the water volume. Just my 2 cents.

I never answered your question. I would go with the largest sump you can fit under there and baffle it. I would create a refugium area to increase the water volume. Look for a used tank or just go with a rubbermaid.
