9mo update / pics

well.... after I moved the reef got a "new" look. I re-did the rocks, added a little more and aquascaped the sh!t out of it. tank has been setup for 1mo since the move and total has been about 9mo, has come a long way and I love to see it grow and change every day!

REEF-ON!! :D

specs are

-tank dims 36L X 15.5D X 17T -40g
-lights 2 x 250w MH 20000k (10hrs per day) 96w PC 10000k (4 hrs per day)
-about 75lbs of Fiji LR & 15lbs tonga
-filteration, free flowing HOB CRP CS90 with a custom 20L DIY sump/fuge (30 x 12 x 12) with 6.5g for the refugium and a 13w draw 75w output 6500k bulb with a Mag 9.5 pumped through a SCWD for the return. Refugium sand bed is 1.5" Fiji mud with 1.5" live sand
-macros, cheato and red grape, along with red kelp
-skimmer, Remora Urchin Pro

fish are
2 Black clowns
1 randall Goby
1 Yellow Clown Goby
1 Green clown Goby
1 Flame Hawk
1 Yellow Tang
in the sump is 2 orange clowns

additives are
5ml B-ionic ALK on mon & thurs
7ml B-ionic CAL on mon and thurs
5ml Marc Weiss coral vital every mon
5ml Kent marine Coral vite every mon

water is
SCRIPPS with 5 gal change every 2wks

All the tests are
ammonia, nitrite are 0
nitrate is always below 5ppm if dectible
PH is 8.1-8.3
ALK is 9-11 DKH
CAL is 420-500ppm

Feeding is
H2o for life Mysis brine sprilina 1 cube per day
bioplankton phyto, 1 squirt everyother day

I shut off the flow for about 30min when I feed the tank and spot feed the rics and other larger LPS

i love that you where not afraid to fill it up, i think a packed tank looks so much better then a sparse one. yes the corals need room but that is why we frag.

a tang in a 40 gallon?? Your getting a ticket for that

thanks for the info no crap . . . . . the tang will be in my new 90g in about 1 mo I had to take him frim a friend who could nolonger keep it

I know they need more room but he's realy happy in my tank lots os stuff to explore :)
