Another Video

Here is another video of the same dive. This is a bit longer and some nice shots near the end. Make sure to watch in HD.

Nice video... Some really nice fish there to.

It wasn't the best waters. I will try to shoot some video tomorrow since I'm going to the Gulf of Oman to dive. Much better out there with many types of fish and corals.

The only good thing about diving around here is that it is only 15 mins away with the boat. Beats having to drive 1.5 hrs to have a couple of dives and then driving 1.5 hrs after diving.

good video. i looks like locally there arent a lot fish and maybe some mushrooms. thatd be a sortof boring tank lol.

Naham should find much more diversity of fish and corals where he's diving tomorrow.
Been there before... However it's totally banned to take out fish or corals from there...

Quoting a fellow reef society member that went diving with me: "There were tons of Platygyra, Favites & either Montipora or Pavona...also cyphastrea i think...not too good at SPS ID's...

Apart from that there was some beautiful green and purple zoanthids, basket stars, beautiful nudibranch, halimeda".

I usually don't concentrate on taking photos of corals; I have no idea what to shoot. I do have some photos of corals though that I'll post soon.

the new pics are ok i guess ;) . honestly the first dive looked boring cuase there was no color that i saw (there was some on fish but elsewhere it looked like a cycling tank lol). the new dive pics look good cause of the sea life and corals. i like the blue, pops out a lot!

That looks like a wall of Blueberry Gorgonians. Absolutely breathtaking. Very tough coral to keep in captivity, seeing so many of them in the wild is just striking.

There were more corals in both dives but I didn't take care in photographing them, just out of ignorance and the fact that my dive instructor was moving me along.

It was breathtaking and there were much more of them on the wall. I just couldn't angle my shot right to show that. Maybe next time I dive there.

Those aren't blueberry gorgs. There are some yellow ones mixed in there that look like Menella sp., and the blue ones may also be a color variant of that. I am also amazed at what appears to be a forest of Dendronephthya sp. all the same exact color (seen in the first 2 pics). Just amazing.

great pictures nahham and video glad to see the lavels are coming along! hope i get the chance to swim with tortoise some day.

I have a book about reef coral in the Gulf of Oman but failed to find either in it. Either way, it was gorgeous :D. I might go diving there this weekend as well and hopefully take more coral photos.

Come by. I'll make sure to tell the tortoise to wait :).

LED lighting?

LED lighting?

Nahham,

Did you ever get an opportunity to check out the color change LEDs I suggested a while back? They would give you the ability to change the ambience of the surroundings according to the events of the evening at your paradise by the sea. Imagine dinner with a warm gold glow and then a nice electric blue fading to Royal purple as the night goes on......

NICE build by the way.
