A 400 Gallon Reef Tank from Utah

Leemar 96 long, 30 wide, 32 tall with Starphire - 5/8 glass with Euro Bracing

This tank will have 4 Radion Pros (will most likely bump it to 6), 2 MP60's and 3 MP40's. I will be running all the lastest Neptune controllers and modules, including salinity and leak detectors. I will be focusing mainly on SPS and some LPS as well. I don't mind a little risk, so I'm going to try and mix Angels, Anthias and a Male Cross Hatch. I've had Angels with my SPS in the past, so I'm going to take the chance. Most of the livestock will be moved from my 150 system as well.

My stand and canopy just showed up today. Installation and plumbing will start next week. I'll be posting pics and updates, hopefully by next weekend.

Very nice...

BTW... it helps to not drive around like that with the RO/DI filter. It might dry out.

HAHAHA.... Nice... What are you going to put in it?

A guppy?

What is in your existing tank?

Any pictures of it?

Blue Face Angel, Potters Angel, Purple Tang, 5 Lyretail, 3 Bartlett, Mandarin, Scooter, pair of Black Ice, 3 inch Male Blue Jaw, Pair of Bangai

I am adding an Orange Tail Emperor to the mix and about 7 different kinds of Anthias. My profile pic is my current tank.

Nice... That will be a good mix.

What equipment are you going to use or upgrade?

75 gallon Sump

Reef Octopus DCS 300 Skimmer (I might be changing this)

Jumbo BRS Reactors, Carbon and GFO

Vertex Reactor for nitrates

Radion Pros for lighting

2 MP60's and 3 MP40's for flow

Neptune controller and modules, including leak and salinity

Turbo Twist 12 X 36 Watt UV Sterilizer

Korallin C-1502 Calcium Reactor

Eheim Jager 300 Watt heater

Ozone

You have some plumbing in front of you then.

That should take you like 45 minutes to get it plumb in.

Good... I can't wait to see how the progress pictures are going to go.

Very nice. How do you like your Lee Mar tank? I'm currently shopping for a 300+ custom glass tank (72Wx30Dx36-40T), and wonder how they compare to Miracles, Coast to Coast, A.G.E., etc.

I haven't seen it yet. It's being delivered from Leemar to ATM in Vegas mid next week and then I have a guy that is going to pick it up and drive up to me. I did, however spend a good 6 months researching tanks and reading reviews. Leemar was a little more than most places, but I felt like they were the best quality. I'm sure there are others that are just as nice or are superior, but I felt comfortable with them because I know a few people who have had them for over 10 years.

Whoops. :spin2: I can't see most of the pictures in the forum when I'm browsing at work, or I would have noticed that your hood is awfully close to your stand in that pic.

Centerville OH?? I'm not a fan of pine, but that stand and canopy look nice. Did a custom guy help you with that?

Centerville, Utah.

It's actually Knotty Alder and it looks a lot darker than in the picture when you see it real life. I did have a guy custom build the stand.

I have a Lee Mar tank now too. Got it a few months ago. (96x30x24). Nice tank, but the front star fire panel had little "bubbles" in the glass. They did not show up until all the rock, sand and water were put in and the lighting was on. Lee mar agreed to fix it, but it had to be mailed in to them. Sucks. I just lived with it, and now that that I am moving to a new location, I just sent it to them Friday. Hopefully I will get it back very soon.

My point is, really look over the glass closely. These little air pockets are almost invisible until your lighting goes in. Once it does however, these little bubbles turn into shinning stars. You can't feel them either, as they are in between the glass itself.

The other problem with led mar is instead of just sending a new tank, they want to rip apart the old one, replace the affected pieces, and then mail back. Just seems painful!
