a bit worried about my new red haddoni

Hey guys

My new red carpet has been doing very well until today and i'm starting to get a bit worried. First of all, here is how he looked last night before lights out:



And today since the morning and he continues to be like this now late this afternoon:



Now my other haddoni's have done this before also but i don't remember if they were like this almost the whole day. Nothing has changed in the tank so i'm wondering whats up. Only thing maybe if the blue Gig that is on the top of the rock above him maybe stung him?

Before it was moved to your tank, what's the best photo of it you have? Anything better than the sale post?


JMO, all the pics I've seen of that anemone shows an anemone struggling. Again, JMO. Maybe I missed some better pics.

Don't have any better photos of it before it came to me. I was sent of few of him just before i got him when he was in the other person's sump. He was fully extended though under an LED light, looked fine to me. Like me pic shows, he's been fine, just a shock to see him like this this morning, and nothing has changed, he is still like this.

Mine has done that before on a couple occasions, and has been fine.

It could be Alleopathy. He may have been stung but the gig doesn't look close enough.

Well thankfully this morning, he looks like he is back to normal...although his mouth is open but it is not gaping, he looks like he has control over it and can close it.

Good to hear. I took my Green Haddini out to the QT. I am leaving for 1 week and cannot afford for him to died in my DT and crash or get my other anemones sick. My QT is a full 30 g reef tank with a SnowOnyx pair in it. I also have a Malu and a smallRose BTA in it. Will see after I return.

I wanted to treat him but asking my wife to do water change is a little too much.

From what I've seen so far in caring for haddonis, they are real tough and can take a lot of abuse. The 5 months i had mine in a small prison basket in less then ideal conditions, he looked horrible but now he's doing great in the new tank.
