Clowns do their own thing so it's just about giving them some time. Mine lived in the corner of the tank and refused to come out for 3 years, then one day they started living in a Goniopora and have been there ever since.

You may want to add another (smaller) clown to have a pair. Most likely once they get bigger their instincts will kick in and they'll look for something that will host them. The best thing to do is keep them and the hammer fat and happy :)

btw don't try to force them near the hammer to speed things along or they'll avoid it permanently.

Hammers dont feed. They just sort of hold food for like 10 minutes and then drop it. Doesnt matter how small the food or how close to the mouth.... perhaps there are some that will eat, you could try.... definitely wont hurt anything regardless

They definitely eat, try 1-2 Fauna Marin LPS pellets per head twice a week with the pumps off until they're done eating :)

If you don't have LPS pellets then a small amount of other dried pellet food works too.

Best to just ignore him, he's been trolling all over the site lately trying to get attention.

What an adult would say is "It's a common misconception that clowns host corals and anemones, the correct phrasing is that corals and anemones host clowns."

I think it's possible if you start with a decent sized healthy, established goni before the clowns get to it. If they tried to host a new or smaller one they'd probably kill it unfortunately... Honestly it's hard to get a goni to even survive much less grow and get established, and even with big healthy ones they'd still probably kill it or stress it to death 99 times out of 100. I wouldn't aim for that one when hammers and other corals work great. It looks awesome though :)

Maybe you should check on the definition of a troll. Lest you be shown to be wrong again.

Rephrasing what I said in a nicer way doesn't make you anymore of an adult than I am.

No organism is right
You can tell your response wasn't helpful because the OP still didn't understand the point you where trying to make.

I would be careful with the hamer if its not established enough and the clown bothers it, it may not survive.

If you really want a home for your clown an alternative people use is a clay flower pot.

Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day,
Teach a man to fish, you feed him for life.

By purposefully NOT giving all the necessary information, I was trying to make the OP think and do some research. But I guess some like to just spoon out information.

If you haven't noticed, the same questions get asked over and over again. A simple search would have yielded results that would have helped OP get his/her answer. They can always ask more detailed questions for clarification. But these days, the 1st move is to ask 1st when a little more work on the OP's part is all that is needed and the bandwidth would be more meaningful.

Do you see me ask questions? Not often. Is it because I'm an expert!?! Far from it! But I do my research and 99.9/100, I can find my answer from doing a few searches. Don't think you are the ONLY person with that question or problem!

It's funny to see when people get upset that there was no response to their question. It's like they are entitled to an answer!

It's the same in every forum pertaining to equipment/hobby, it's the way people behave now and I guess they are used to having their answers given to them wrapped in silk and dipped in gold rather than finding out themselves.

Ok /rant

Then why bother to answer with a non answer?
Your non answer only caused confusion.
Why are you even on the forum then if you can find your answer with a search?
Just to troll?
