Thanks, Alexandre. I learnt my KZ directly or indirectly from you and the reason I choose Zeovit, not how easy to success in color, but how easy to get precise feedback when in trouble. ZZ was not very success on me, but I just figure out that I might use it the wrong way. I usually separated Bak and ZZ dosing. In fact, I was on purpose dosing Bak in Zeovit reactor four hours before I dose ZZ+Snow+Biomat, and I might not dose enough. What is your suggestion of ZZ dosing volume? My tank is 120 gallon display tank with high SPS density, sump is about 40 gallon.
I do like my GHL dose system, there are a few reefers in Taiwan use up to 16 heads with Zeovit system. :lmao:
Hello shih87,
Thank you for the reminder and I'm happy to have helped a friend of the hobby.
As for ZeoZym I got success in fighting the Cyans when used so as follows:
Dosing the usual amount of
ZEObak +
Zeozym (recommended quantity for the total volume of water - I place a spoon dose to your volume of water) + 1 to 2 ml (
optional) Coral Snow.
Let stand for 8 hours the mixture (in the refrigerator).
Apply with the skimmer off for 2 hours.
Used for one week and 30 days after the Cyan gone.
There is also a more radical treatment, if I may say so. I never did, but people who have achieved success with it.
3 teaspoons in 1 liter of aquarium water per 1000 gallons of system volume for the 1st day;
Then apply 1 teaspoon in 1 liter to 1000 liters of the system. It goes from 2nd to 7th day.
After the first week applied twice a week 1 teaspoon in 1 liter to 1000 liters of the system.
In this case there arises the Coral Snow, but let it sit for 8 hours in the refrigerator and apply to the skimmer off for 2 hours.
I know some people who failed to eliminate Cyan with this treatment. Therefore, each system is unique.
Note well the most delicate corals throughout treatment, as in the case of early rtn or stn stop treatment and adjust the dosage may decrease the amount of ZZ or even remove the Coral Snow.
Hope this helps.
A hug,
Alexandre George.
