i know i have more algae than most tanks ive seen pics of,i dont worry about it too much,it doesnt seem to be the hair algae i see in problem threads ive read/seen.all water parameters are tested pretty often as of right now as i have been adding frags, everything seems good,so i just go with the flow,if they are happy,im happy :P

note:i think i will be removing the greenstar polyps and the hydronopora shortly, bought before i thought.thx for reading my rant. :P

Might want to add a cleaning crew before the frags. How long has your tank been running? What do you have for water movement?

tank has been up and running for about 14 months, about 4 months into reef tank,i had a heater stick and kill everything, few fish,a few frags.i left the lights off for like 2 whole months(in the middle of moving) started it back up,kept the water, did water changes of course.to my suprise there was actually quite a bit of life left(bristle worms, hermits, snails)
even before i was never able to get rid of this type of algae,so i quit trying.......my new fish include onespot foxface rabbitfish, flame angel(hasnt nipped one polyp yet :P) neon dottyback, and 2 onespot gobies.the foxface and flame angel graze on it all day long, this not a good thing?
since my first post i used a toothbrush(brand new one i made a tank tool :P) to clean it off the glass and overflow,it usually takes like a week for it to come back, but i have since(since the last time i cleaned glass) added a mod to one of the maxi jets so now im at like 47 times turnover rate(give or take)
thx for reading

also,i do have a cleaning crew, but maybe a little on the light side.i have also tested for phosphates (which i have been told by someone with a few thousand gallons under their belt and about 12 years of time,is kinda a waste of time and money, said that once phosphates enter the system they are consumed by algae,so theres no real way to test for them) even so i bought the salifert kit and tested,it was more than zero, but less than .03ppm.

thx,i like to think i do nice aquascaping,i have had an african cichlid tank(120 gallon) that i have had to tear apart many times(anytime you add fish, you have to re aquascape, they are that territorial) and i have many pounds of lace rock in the tank.and have actually thought about converting some of the rock into saltwater/live rock,i have some very unique peices of rock in that tank.i like having the tank look 3d,as in depth front to back,as opposed to just astacking the rock up against the backside of the tank.thx for reading

note:i posted in the first post that i didnt know the name of the strawberry prostrata, well i did some research, its an acropora prostrata. (just for those including me that dont/didnt know)
