Temp is 79 degrees. Too hot?

Yup

you will start seeing some in a couple of days...don't get complacent because there is none now.....be ready for it if you do get some spikes.....

but that is not to say many folks never get a spike....

and with the large water volume you have...makes it easier to cycle..

and 79 is top end temp....try a box fan blowing on the tank, will drop it a couple of degrees..

or depending on the tank size, you can put water in 20oz or 2 liter coke bottles & freeze them to put in the tank to bring the temps down
