A few Chalice/random pictures

I recently made some changes in the tank and took some pictures. Mostly of chalices but some others turned out pretty good for me taking them. Can't wait until we get the photography speaker in for one of the meetings.

There are 3 chalices in this picture: Bottom is a Pink Boobies, top middle is a WWC Black Widow, and top right is a Cherry Corals Thunderbolt chalice.

WWC Situation chalice. This has been a good grower.

Original mummy eye chalice. Starting to take off.

Here are some palys that have turned black in the back of my tank. Pretty cool

Mouth watering pictures!

I can't wait for the photography speaker FRAG meeting either. I've rearrranged my travel plans so I can be there!

Really great pictures (and stunning livestock); exactly the sorts of choices I would make in a tank.

Nice. Did you have that black widow when I was there? I saw a piece of that was sold in their live sale a few months ago and thought it was such a cool, unique piece. I didn't participate in that sale though so missed out. Keep me on the short list if you ever decide to frag it! :)

Is there anything that does not like your tank? Having amazing SPS is very hard but having amazing SPS and still having all the other corals look great is a whole nother level! Can I start buying your used water change water :)

Eric, I bought the black widow chalice during one of WWC's marathon sales. It was a brutal experience the way it was run and ruined my sleep cycle for a few days. I believe I have had it for 6-8 months. It is a slow grower. I wish I had the photography skills you have.

Those sales are wicked -- I've done one and I don't think I can convince myself to do another (at least for the entirety of the marathon sales). Some great deals to be had but, you're 100% right, it ruins your sleep pattern for sure! I must have seen it and forgot to take a picture of it. Beautiful and interesting for sure!

So my wife laughed at my pictures last night and showed me how out of focus they are. She gave me a quick lesson this morning. I didn't realize you had to put the lens in manual mode when shooting in manual mode. Duh! Here are some from this morning. I still find it hard to focus with the macro lens. JP

This is an acro I got from Carlos while he was working at RC. It's been quietly growing in the back and really showing some unique colors.

These are really neat little fish. Mine will always pop up wherever I'm sitting looking into the tank.
