Hey don what species is #7 do you happen to know? I want to say it looks like a type of galaxia but im not sure

Christie, I really have no idea what it is. I bought it from Nolans in Lakeland and they had no idea. He said it was an SPS of some sort.
It is encrusting but has some long tentacles.

Cheekmonkey, I really dont know when I can head up to Orlando, I just started the police academy and Im just so busy right now. I will ask around and see if any of my friends are heading up that way.

my sister went to the police academy.....she said it wasn't quite as fun as the movie....but she had a good time!

Hey Andy.....are you working Saturday night? mebbe you and the wife can come to the meeting!

Police academy? Are you crazy? LOL.

Just a wee bit... :D I may apply for FWC. Where are you policing??

Juciey- Do you have a link I can look at to get some more info?? This piece is a nice bright blue with no actinics. It was taken under 2- 250watt 14k's. Its a nice piece. Never thought about researching it. I know it eats mysis and brine shrimp, thats all I know.
Did your sister get in anywhere??

Don, I am a Seminole County Deputy. If you go to the the police academy, you will likely get picked up by a local agency. The FWC has its own academy, as far as I know (unless they have recently changed). If they picked you up, you may have to sit thru the whole thing all over again. I know that the FHP will take people with experience, but you still have to attend an abbreviated 8 week academy. I think the FWC follows the same guidelines.

Andy, thats a negativo sirrrr, LOL. Nah, but for real the FWC has sponsored kids in my academy class at the moment. I wish I wouldve known how that sponsorship program worked before I jumped the gun... I am also talking to the recruiter for DOT, thats what I am leaning more towards, he seems like a great guy too.

Shane, mine is bigger!!! And dont be scared, unless....

Unless they give you bullets to put in your gun. :lolspin: :lolspin:

My sis was on in orange city for a while, but she is in private sector. I went special opps infantry, and now I'm medically retired........maybe I should have gone to the academy instead of the sand box(s)

lemme find a link fer ya! I cant find one of the plating one...but I have one in my bedroom.....the polyp structure is the same as the branching one, only it plates more rather than branching......if fell in the rocks and might be dead now......but I got it in a big SPS frag pack from south florida from an aquaculturer. the one he gave me was like.......way neon green.....but it got so fuzzy it you could barely see the neon green.

if you take it out of the water and give it a shake....when the polyps contract.....it will look like a weird rock! Very cool coral! but it will sting the crap out of anything it falls on, or falls on it.

Don, If I had to pick between the FWC and DOT, I would go with DOT. A lot of agencies these days will pay for your academy. It wasn't like that 10 years ago!
