I will be setting up my 29g biocube nano tank here in the next few days.
I have kept tanks in the past but didn’t hold the experience or knowledge it took to keep a successful reef tank. I sold off my 155 fowlr and my 72g reef over the last two years. But I have decided that from past experiences I have learned several things.

I want to ensure that this project is a success so I want to make sure that I do everything right.
I have purchased the Tank and stand, A CPR SR3 skimmer, jager 100w heater, korila nano power head, 30lbs of live sand, auto top off unit, test kit, Refractometer and a nice RO/DI unit that produces 75gpd.
The next step is to purchase live rock but this is where I need your help.
I plan on letting the tank cycle and establish itself for at least 2 months before any live stock or corals go in. Based off of this should I purchase "cured" or base rock? I know that "cured" rock is not fully cured and will have die off in shipping.
Second is during the cycle process should I have the lights on or off and if I do have them on how many hours during the cycle should I have them on.
