Very nice Cody, hopefully I'll have a new tank soon. I am shopping for a rimless now that my new koi pond is up and running I can concentrate on a reef tank.

Kodiak23 -

First off, congratulations on the build. Your ADA is a beautiful setup - I had a look through the progression of your build. Love the clean lines and how it works with the room's aesthetic.

Short story is that I'm an expatriated Brit who is keen to get back into the hobby. I kept a 55g freshwater tank for several years back in the UK, but have been wanting to get a reef setup for some time. I'm in the all too familiar 'planning mode' - way too much over-thinking. I wanted to reach out because it looks like you've learned a lot on the way through your build - learning from that experience would be useful!

You went for a slightly unorthodox (but more aligned to the rimless design aesthetic) overflow/return setup, but from the more recent photos it looks like you've changed direction and gone for a more traditional corner overflow setup.
- How was the drilling on the ADA...? Anything other than the standard guidance on drilling?
- How did the original setup work for you?
- What made you have a change of heart on this original setup?

Best regards,

maxcop
