A few questions regarding battery backup

I just received a new battery backup and cannot for the life of me remember a few things about it. First of all, can I unplug the adaptor once the battery is fully charged? Or, do I leave the adaptor on 24/7? Also, the green light on the adaptor stays lit whether the cable is on the battery or off. Is this right? How do I know when the battery is fully charged if this is the case? Thanks.

I would leave the adapter plugged in all the time. This way, in case of a power outage, after power is restored it will automatically recharge the battery. If you desire to unplug it that also is no problem. You would just have to plug it back into recharge the battery.
The green LED on the charger will always be lit. When the battery is discharged, the green LED will flicker rapidly showing it is charging. As it charges the flicker will decrease in speed showing it is charging. After it is fully charged it will be steady.
